Dan is a native of New York’s Capital region, growing up in East Greenbush and starting his technology career at MapInfo Corporation. After spending 8 years at MapInfo, Dan went on to lead IT organizations for a number of local corporations and started a tradeshow-mapping software company in 2005. In 2015, Dan decided to leverage his knowledge of the local technology market, and the people in it, by starting redShift Recruiting. Dan is a winner of the Business Review’s Forty under 40 award and sits on the advisory board of EdTechLens, a Schenectady based Educational Technology company. Dan’s Wife, Dr. Erin Walborn-Sterantino is also a Forty under 40 winner, and owns Audiologic Solutions Hearing Centers in North Greenbush and Hudson. Dan has a Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems from Sage College and is a Master’s Candidate in Space Studies from the Odegard Aerospace School at the University of North Dakota.
Dan is a student of the sciences and is endlessly curious about the natural world. Though his career revolves around technology, he is a passionate wildlife conservationist and has been working with critically endangered species for 20 years.
Ryan Thomas is the Executive Vice President of Business Development at redshift Recruiting. He is responsible for business strategy development, building awareness about redShift’s unique capabilities among prospective clients and continuously exceeding client expectations. Ryan brings over 20 years’ experience in the recruiting and staffing industry with a record of successfully fulfilling his clients’ distinctive requirements.
Prior to joining redshift, Ryan enjoyed 17 successful years with Robert Half International. Beginning his career in the Springfield, MA office, he started in the Accountemps Division (temporary accounting and finance), and was soon promoted to Branch Manager overseeing both the Accountemps and OfficeTeam (temporary office and administrative) divisions. During his time in Springfield, Ryan spent multiple terms as the President of the local chapter of the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants)
In 2005 he transferred to Albany, NY to be closer to where he grew up in the Glens Falls area. He joined the direct placement division of Robert Half, focusing on finance and accounting roles. He has conducted searches for top companies in the Capital District, Syracuse, Plattsburgh, Burlington and Western Massachusetts. He has filled roles including Senior Accountants, Financial Analysts, Controllers and several executive level CFOs.
Ryan received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Western New England University in Springfield, MA.
Ryan resides in East Greenbush, NY with his partner Amy and two children. He has coached soccer and basketball for many years at the youth level and is currently coaching AAU basketball.
Martha Meppen is the Sr. Recruiting Specialist at redShift recruiting responsible for introducing exceptional talent to top notch companies in the Capital District and beyond. Also responsible for educating clients about redShift’s outstanding capabilities as the premiere technology firm in the area and providing all with exemplary customer service.
Prior to joining redShift, Martha spent eight years with a few local staffing firms where she focused on temporary, temp to hire, and direct hire placement. She provides services for entry level through executive management opportunities throughout the region including engineering, IT, administrative, and more.
Ashtin Givens is the Recruiting Specialist at redShift Recruiting. She is responsible for business development, candidate outreach, and most importantly, relationship building. Ashtin has a diverse background, but recently comes from the recruiting and staffing industry. She has specialized in temporary, temporary to permanent, as well as direct hire placements. She has filled roles including Accountants, Office Managers, Project Managers, and much more.
Ashtin received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Relations from SUNY Plattsburgh. While in school she was in the organization Alpha Epsilon Phi, where she participated in community outreach and fundraising. Ashtin is born and raised here in the capital district. She currently resides in Averill Park, NY with her partner, her daughter, and her two dogs.
